Order status

Q – When will you send my item and how long does delivery normally take?

A – We ship items within 2 business days (often sooner), so you should expect to receive the item within 2 working days in the UK and between 6-10 internationally.

Q – I have not received my item, what should I do?

A – Contact us, after the period above, using the contact details at the bottom of this page, to ensure we have received your payment and confirm your shipping details. Please note that we do not ship items with a tracking reference, as this slows down the whole delivery process.

Returns & Refunds

Q – What is our refund policy?

A – We have a 30 Day No Quibble Money Back Guarantee policy. If you are unhappy with any of our products, for any reason, you are free to return the item, within 30 days, for a full refund, as long as the item is returned in the same state it was provided in and you have emailed our returns department. All you have to do is cover the cost of returning the item to us. This shows how confident we are in our products.

Q – How do I go about returning an item?

A – If there is a problem with your item, we may offer an exchange. If you have tried to resolve the issue you were having and have had no success, simply email our returns department (returns@theopensourceshop.com) and you wil be sent instructions on how to return your item.

Q – How long after returning an item, will I get a refund?

A – We normally process refunds within 5 working days of receiving and checking any returned items. Any enquiries regarding refunds should only be sent after this period.

Software Questions

Q – Will I get a boxed product?

A. No, in order to minimise P+P costs this CD will be sent in a secure cardboard CD mailer with no box or jewel case.

Q – Is this software legal?

A – Absolutely! Yes! This compilation has been created by theopensourceshop and copies of the GPL licenses are available on request.

Q – Is Microsoft Windows included in this Kit?

A – No, the Kit contains the software that will allow you to reinstall Windows but you will still need to use your original Microsoft Windows CD, Recovery CD or the disk / CD supplied by your PC vendor.

Q – Licensing – can I install this on more than 1 computer?

A – Yes, you can install this on any number of machines,with no worries about licenses for the software.

Q – Is this easy to use?

A – Yes… very! To run the Boot software, simply insert the disc into your CD / DVD ROM drive and reboot your machine, selecting the drive as the first boot disk. To run the Windows programs, simply insert the CD, when in Windows and our automated menu will make things really simple.

Q – What support do you provide for this product?

A – Although we do not support the individual programs supplied in the Kit, it comes with instructions. We are more than happy to assist with any other issues. We really are here to help.

Q –Is the item available in another format other then CDs or DVDs?

A – We try to provide each item in the most popular formats but if you would like to see us provide something in another format, such as USB Flash Drive, then contact us and we will see if it’s possible.

Q – I am having problems running my CD/DVD. What can I do before I contact you?

A – You should try the following, before contacting us, so we can help with more complicated issues:

Check the disc for any obvious damage the may have occurred during delivery.

Clean the disc with a soft or non-abrasive cloth, ensuring there are no particles left on the surface.

Restart your machine and try the disc again.

Try testing the disc in another computer.

If you do need to contact us, please provide as much detail of the the problem, as possible, so we can effectively assist you.
